Exciting announcement - We are Roaring Fork United!

We have some exciting news to announce. Roaring Fork Valley Soccer Club and Glenwood Springs Soccer Club have partnered, and the new club will be called Roaring Fork United. This partnership process has been in the making for a several years, finalized in the last few months, and we are excited to finally share this exciting news.

Below is a letter from the President of the Boards from RFVSC and FCG and attached is a Q and A document on the exciting benefits of this partnership along with what changes to expect. The RFVSC and Glenwood Soccer websites will soon be redirected to our new website at www.RoaringForkUnited.org. Please go check it out. It is live now and registration for Fall programs are open!

Roaring Fork Valley Soccer Club (RFVSC) and Glenwood Springs Soccer Club (FCG) are excited to announce that the clubs have partnered to form a new soccer club named Roaring Fork United.

Simply put, the clubs are stronger together, and by partnering, Roaring Fork United can provide better opportunities for players of all levels and ages, from recreational programs at the younger ages to competitive advanced league programs leading to collegiate play. The combined club can also better support the growth and development of club coaches, with better support from expanded club staff.

Through discussions over the last four years, followed by three months of weekly meetings this spring by a planning committee spanning both club boards and other community members, the clubs confirmed a close alignment of values and goals. This alignment of values and goals were captured in Roaring Fork United’s Mission Statement: Roaring Fork United is a Valley-wide athletic development organization dedicated to advancing the game of soccer among all players by promoting sportsmanship, individual skill development, knowledge of team play, and fostering a spirit of community involvement. We will provide both developmental and competitive playing opportunities to accommodate the different skill levels of our players and we will provide training opportunities for our coaching staff.

By partnering, Roaring Fork United will be in a stronger position to expand club staff with additional Director of Coaching positions, an Executive Director supporting the combined club, operational efficiencies by aligning processes, and combined fundraising to help support all of those goals. Kevin Jardine, currently Executive Director of RFVSC, will continue as Executive Director of Roaring Fork United. Travis Yoakum and Hailey Bird will continue as Director of Coaching and Club Administrator/Academy Director for Roaring Fork United. Ultimately, these staff and efforts will provide a better experience for all Roaring Fork United’s players and coaches.

Soccer in the Roaring Fork Valley has seen continual growth in the last two decades. Roaring Fork United will have over 1100 players, creating the second largest Colorado soccer club outside of the Front Range. The partnership follows a proven pathway that clubs across Colorado and the United States have followed to enable a better player and coach experience. Dating back to the ‘90s, there were 4 clubs in the Valley: Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, and Glenwood. Basalt and Carbondale partnered initially in 2017, with Aspen joining the organization a few years later. Over the last four years, RFVSC and FCG have intentionally shared a Director of Coaching and a Club Administrator, subsequently adding a shared Referee Assignor. The clubs have also partnered to create all-valley advanced league teams at the High School level and have shared coaches and players to create tournament teams. These teams have seen success at the highest levels of Colorado Soccer Association competitive leagues. Those steps have created the foundation and relationships that lead to the current partnership as Roaring Fork United.
